And their main purpose is to give a beard to ZA. And his beard is only nine Tikunim; and with them it is completed to the thirteen Tikunim of the beard, also for him. And the main of this discourse has been explained in the explanation of Va'yaavor and the thirteen attributes of mercy; see there. And in brief we shall say that the beard of Arich Anpin is drawn from the Hochma of the Moach Stimaa within it; but the beard of ZA is drawn from the Daat itself of ZA. See what I have explained in the matter of the sin of Cain and Abel, when they offered wool and linen.

1The beard of AA is drawn from the Hochma of Mocha Stimaa within it. But the beard of ZA is drawn from the Daat itself of ZA. For the hairs of the Rosh and of the Dikna [beard] of AA are the discernment of the garments of reflected light that emerged upon the discernment of his own AB, while he was included in Atik, and which went outside after his coming to his own place, as is known. And behold, the AB of AA is the discernment of the Hochma of direct light, as is known; thus the Dikna of AA is drawn from Mocha Stimaa, which is the Hochma of direct light, that is, the level of AB of his own self. However, the Dikna of ZA is from the discernment of the Hochma of the thirty-two paths, which emerged in the place of Atik through the ascent of the MAN [Mayin Nukvin] of the Dikna for the need of AVI who rose there; and at the time of their coming to their place they went outside because of their clothing in the MaLTz, as is known. And so ZA — his whole portion in those Mochin is nothing but the two crowns alone, which are the Daat, as above (page 1579, the passage beginning “And it was explained”). It is found that the discernment of a returning surrounding light that was concealed from the Mochin is only from the discernment of the two crowns; and therefore the garments of reflected light too, which are the hairs, are only from their discernment. Thus the entire discernment of the hairs of the Dikna of ZA is only from the discernment of the Daat alone, which are the two crowns. And this is what he says, that the Dikna of ZA is drawn from the Daat, as explained.
